Search Engine Optimization: What does that really mean, and why should you really care about it?
In todays market space, there are tens of thousands, if not millions of websites competing for the top spot in Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask!. All of these sites cannot be #1, but you want to be. Why? Consider that, being in the #1 position means that over 42% of the people that search for a certain term will click over to your website. Now if you are a business selling a product, or service this is huge. Why would you want your competition to get that #1 spot, and you only get 24% of the clicks at #2. Personally, I want that #1 spot, and I want it on EVERY search engine.
So, what does it take to organically optimize your site, and can I just do it and leave it alone. Lets talk about each of these one at a time.
What does it take to optimize my site?
Optimization of your site could be a very simple process if you have taken the time to set it up from day 1 or it can be a long process possibly requiring alot of work. It is worth it though. Here are a couple of things that we look at when we optimize a site for a client

What Type of SEO Is there?
SEO as we now know stands for “Search Engine Optimization”. This can be a very complex, and multi-faceted process where you need to create data points not only on your site, but also links, and data points elsewhere on the web for the engines to help understand what your site is about. Some of the other areas of SEO that you should talk to your firm about are the following (click the titles to get more details)
Each type, or speciality Search Engine Optimization that is done is important to help the engines understand what your site is about, and why it should rank number one in the results.
Once it is optimized do I have to do anything else?
This is a hard question to answer. The short answer is NO!, you never HAVE to do anything more ever to your site regarding SEO if you do not want to. Does that mean you will always be the #1 spot? Does that mean your competition will not be doing SEO to try and beat you to that #1 spot? Does that mean that your business will NEVER grown, and you will not need to optimize those new pages? Does that mean the search engines will never change the way that they rank a page and affect your rankings? If you can say NO to every one of those questions then no, do not do anymore SEO ever and be happy, but if even one of those was a YES then you understand that you need to keep tuning your site to make sure it is running at full speed.
